The art of reinvention – PEROLO, the next generation
If you’re not moving forward continuously, then in fact you’re falling behind. With this in mind PEROLO has made some strategic investments to move the company forward and take advantage of technology. This movement has been generated and developed by two of PEROLO’s young engineers
Joseph FORTIN and Marceau COTRAUD. Together they set up a project for investment in a new 3D printer and performed the implementation of the machine once it arrived. “The 3D printer is useful in three different stages of the development and production process”, states Joseph. “First of all it is a great help during the prototype stage of a new piece of equipment. It allows testing of different hypothesis and developing prototypes at a very low cost and in very short space of time. Furthermore it accelerates the lost wax foundry production process for small series (BIP Perolo owns its own foundry BIP Jiangsu Engineering located in China). Secondly it is of vital importance during the industrialisation stage by creating in a very ergonomic way different tools to manufacture equipment and also to control the quality of the equipment produced. Lastly, we can actually produce some items which will taken direct from the 3D printer to be used as accessories on certain PEROLO products.” Marceau adds the following conclusion: “To sum up, 3D printing is speeding up the production process as well as reducing prototyping costs. Furthermore it eases the work of production employees by supplying ergonomic tools for manufacturing the different valves and fittings of BIP Perolo.”
